As Paleoclimatologist named Jack Hall was in Antartica, he discovers that a huge ice sheet has been sheared off. But what he did not know is that this event would trigger a massive climate shift that would effect the world population. Meanwhile, his son, Sam was with friends in New York to attend an event. There they discover that it has been raining non-stop for the past 3 weeks, and after a series of weather related disasters that occurred over the world. Thelonious Sphere Monk (October 10, 1917 – February 17, 1982) was an American jazz pianist and composer considered "one of the giants of American music". Monk had a unique improvisational style and made numerous contributions to the standard jazz repertoire, including "Epistrophy", "'Round Midnight", "Blue Monk", "Straight, No Chaser" and "Well, You Needn't". Monk is the second most recorded jazz composer after Duke Ellington, which is particularly remarkable as Ellington composed over 1,000 songs while Monk wrote about 70.

Often regarded as a founder of bebop, Monk's playing later evolved away from that style. His compositions and improvisations are full of dissonant harmonies and angular melodic twists, and are consistent with Monk's unorthodox approach to the piano, which combined a highly percussive attack with abrupt, dramatic use of silences and hesitations.

Monk's manner was idiosyncratic. Visually, he was renowned for his distinctive style in suits, hats and sunglasses. He was also noted for the fact that at times, while the other musicians in the band continued playing, he would stop, stand up from the keyboard and dance for a few moments before returning to the piano. One of his regular dances consisted of continuously turning counterclockwise, which has drawn comparisons to ring-shout and Sufi whirling.

He is one of only five jazz musicians to be featured on the cover of Time (the other four being Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Wynton Marsalis, and Dave Brubeck).

John Lee Hooker never needed a band, just himself, his tapping foot and talking style blues vocals and insistent guitar riffs, to work up an audience, whether in a concert hall or in a tiny folk type coffee house. He's won his share of public recognition for his work too, from French awards for his recordings to Ebony's Hall of Fame. The kind of imagery John Lee Hooker conjures up can be heard on the HOOKERS, a riffing, talking blues done with his cousin EARL HOOKER on second guitar, a story about how the two of them together and singly took on same bad actors in a 47th street bar. Some fine piano work by BIG MOOSE WALKER, also a Mississippi blues man helps this fine track.I WANNA BE YOUR PUPPY is on of John Lee's talking style blues, also featuring his cousin Earl. BABY, BE STRONG is an up-tempo blues with a long instrumental introduction, a tale about how Uncle Sam needs him to go and win the war in Vietnam. HAVE MERCY ON MY SOUL continues the feeling from from I Wanna Be Your Puppy, more of the compelling Hooker talking style. LONESOME MOOD is a slow piece with BIG MOOSE on organ, as is IF YOU TAKE CARE OF ME, I'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU, rich in earnest entreaties of how John Lee will take care of his new girl, if she will only listen to his story. Some sardonic Earl Hooker guitar tells you not to believe this too much, but this does not detract the master from his mood, from casting his spell and making his point.
Among those who have listened long and hard to John Lee Hooker are BUDDY GUY, JUNIOR PARKER, JOHN MAYALL and JOHNNY WINTER and they've all come away that much more enriched. I suggest you do the same. Please note too, the reticent Earl Hooker died not long after making these recordings with his uncle, his promise unfulfilled
